Your world is full of diversions

A transcript of a conversation with a guide from our September 16 evening with the spirit guides.

Joanna:  I wanted to talk about our lives, our complex lives in this world today. We have so many distractions and interruptions. We have cell phones and we’re connected with everybody all the time and I think for many of us, certainly for me, I have an expectation that I should be up on top of everything and keeping up with it all. It creates anxiety and chaotic thinking, I believe.  And I wondered if you have any advice on how we can cope and find balance in all this?

Guide:   Don’t do it dear! Just simply stop doing it.  You don’t need to! Now that may sound rather flip of me but I don’t mean to be so.  It is true you have a choice amongst you and in the path are your personal learning child.  How would I say this?

You come into the world with lots of things and ideas and promises, issues to learn.  Certain things you’ll come to understand about–what your being is and what it needs to learn in this next passage of time in the physical domain. And in that, there’s many things that will come to interrupt the many promises you have (or perhaps it just be one or two) but these things are just diversions and you can make a choice quite quickly as to what is necessary enough. You know yourself, my dear one, that this electronic device is has nothing to do with the true focus of what you need to do.  It takes you off course.  And it’s true, the more energy you put into it the less energy you have to put to the focus of what you want to do.

So how to make peace with this is what you’re asking of me? How do I take this different machine that is making me the subject of constant anxiety and put it away somewhere? Just put it away somewhere! Best thing to say is just, “Don’t worry about it so much”.

Say to yourself, “Well I’ll pick it up and I’ll have a look when I need to be talking to someone, but most of the time I won’t be.”

Your world is full of diversions; it’s such a busy time right now. And many times your focus gets carried away in some another direction and if you know yourself as this big ball of anxiety because you’re thinking. “I need to do these other things and this is not important.”

It’s true–you do need to do the other things. Just know what’s really important. Each of you knows your own truth that lies deep within your being. You don’t need some old being from another dimension to tell you that. Darling I love you very dearly.  You needn’t worry about it, about wasting all your time.

Thank you.

It was reported in the news yesterday “A huge hole that appeared in the Earth’s protective ozone layer above the Arctic in 2011 was the largest recorded in the northern hemisphere, though the sudden appearance of the hole was not due to man-made causes, scientists said in a report on Monday.” What is the truth? When these events occur in the natural elements is there a purpose to these changes? How are life forms affected by such an event? Thank you so much.

A long time ago I began to refuse to answer the phone at home when it was inconvenient or just didn’t because I was doing something I really enjoyed at that moment. It turned out that many people found me odd, annoying and antisocial. “Why do you have a phone then?!” “Others are making an effort to call you and you don’t even bother to answer?!” and on and on… including my mother. 10 years on and my mother starts doing the same! she doesn’t answer the phone when it is inconvenient or busy with something she finds important. How things changed.
Yes, sometimes you find resistance. :)
